The Last Portage depicts the event of pushing a 14-foot boat from the East to West coast of Jersey, Channel Islands, and out into the Atlantic Ocean. The event was both simultaneously a performance and film-set in flux, with no storyboard the film was impulsively shot embracing chance encounters and spontaneous happenings that occurred on route. A soundtrack directly responding to the boat’s situation was improvised and scored live during the performance/shoot.
