...The Tales that Really Mattered manifested itself through The Arcades Project A 3D Documentary initiated by artist Jennie Savage and based in Cardiff's Victorian and Edwardian Arcades over the winter of 2008. Cardiff is known as the city of Arcades because it has the highest concentration of Victorian and Edwardian shopping arcades in the UK. Savage led an exploration into these spaces, inspired by Walter Benjamin's Arcades Project.

With an arena fixed, this endeavour sees the protagonist explore the 'non place' in an unorthodox manner. Undertaking a series of performative acts that interpret Gravity, these actions are inspired by Einstein's Thought Experiments and a notion of nothingness.

The camera has been employed as a tool to document the Arcades only, the scenes have been disrupted by the futile attempts of the protagonist to accomplish an impossible goal; overcome the effects of gravity and to experience nothingness.

The Tales that Really Mattered along with contributions from other artists for The Arcades Project A 3D Documentary are included in a publication titled Depending On Time.
